I come before you, the great virtual masses, to explain myself. Enjoy it, because I am loath to do this, but I find it a moral imperative. I see it all the time. You probably do, too, but we all (myself included) just accept it as normal. Stupid people with their stupid ideas running amok in society. Not only that, but the majority in this country seem to think that these mental midgets should be elected to office so that they can implement their stupid ideas into law! What kind of world did we create for ourselves that requires us to follow the narrow-minded? Case in point: political correctness. What boob thought that this was a good idea? Now the majority (be it race, ideaology, theology, whatever) must censor its words - its very ideas - so as to not offend the minority. Here's a thought: Grow up! Let the majority have Christmas decorations and Christmas themes in school or at work. Tell the few other students/co-workers that they may also celebrate their holidays with just as much pride and fervor. And for those that are raising their children to believe that there is no God, let them use these times of religious celebration to teach their kids about taking the high road or, on the other end of the spectrum, about the sheep mentality of the religion in question. Why should 500 people shelve their beliefs to coddle to the 5 who don't agree?
Tangent:
Stop getting offended by petty crap. I get more offended that millions of dollars are wasted every year on unnecessary "cosmetic" programs while people still go hungry and sleep on the streets. Fix the problems and stop pointing to a useless victory!
I have got to stop or I will write on this subject for way too long! See my next post for more.
